What is psychiatry?

A psychiatrist is a medical doctor (an M.D. or D.O.) who specializes in mental health, including substance use disorders, as well as managing prescription medications. Psychiatrists are qualified to assess both the mental and physical aspects of psychological problems.

Dr. Ronald Zohner

Dr. Zohner is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including both Mountain View Hospital and Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.

He is capable of diagnosing and treating mental illnesses, such as depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and schizophrenia. Most psychiatrists rely on a mix of medications and psychotherapy.

Andrina Kalita, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner 

Andrina Kalita is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing comprehensive mental health care for patients of all ages. Previously, her work involved Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams, where she managed complex psychiatric cases through a multidisciplinary, mobile approach to deliver high-level support directly to patients in their own environments.

A graduate of the University of Missouri, Andrina is passionate about supporting children and adolescents, as well as women’s health including postpartum depression. She maintains a trauma-informed, judgment-free practice focused on medication management, psychotherapy, and individualized wellness goals, all grounded in over 15 years of experience as a registered nurse in Psychiatry, Pain Management, and Physical Medicine.
