Our goal with offering critical incident group debriefing is to assist individuals and families in overcoming struggles and building and sustaining productive, meaningful, and happy lives.
The goals of this service can be summed up in five points:
Critical incidents are situations that occur outside of our normal frame of reference and challenge us to understand and cope with what has happened. They are sudden and unexpected, involves the perception of threat to life, and can include elements of physical and emotional loss.
Group debriefing consists of a short-term group intervention process that focuses on an immediate event as well as providing a place for participants to talk, share experiences, and for facilitators to teach and inform. It also includes a facilitator-led group process conducted soon after a traumatic event. We come to your company, school, etc. and provide services as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours.
All of our facilitators are trained in Group Debriefing by the Crisis &Trauma Resource Institute (CTRI). Our group debriefing team meets quarterly to renew training and to provide support to each other.
