Kaius (he/they) was born and raised in Rexburg, Idaho before moving to Pocatello to attend Idaho State University for both his bachelor's and master's degrees. He completed his bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology in May 2022. He then continued attending ISU to receive a master's degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling in May 2024. Throughout his degree, Kaius worked with those with co-occurring mental health and physical health conditions. He has experience working with a wide variety of physical health conditions including multiple sclerosis (MS), fibromyalgia, cancer, arthritis, and heart disease. Kaius also was an intern at the California Department of Vocational Rehabilitation through telehealth during his master’s program. There he learned how to help clients get into school and find fulfilling careers. He currently specializes in working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness as the supported education and employment specialist. In his spare time, Kaius enjoys going on walks with his dog, going swimming, and gardening.
Kaius believes everyone deserves to feel safe, validated, and accepted for who they are and to be supported in exploring their identities. He aims to work with each individual to help them make positive changes in their lives through both individual and family counseling services. He utilizes primarily Acceptance and Commitment therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral therapy techniques in his practice to help clients achieve these goals.
