Megan earned her Masters of Social Work degree from Brigham Young University with an emphasis in clinical therapy. She received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from BYU-Idaho. Her experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma-related issues, poor self-esteem, difficulty in life transitions, unhealthy relationships, and family conflict. Megan is also trained in Play Therapy.
Megan grew up in Colorado, and now having lived in Utah and Idaho, it’s safe to say that her heart resides in the Rocky Mountain region. She enjoys exploring the outdoors, traveling, a good Netflix show, and finding local eateries to indulge in. Megan practices yoga and gardens for her personal self-care (and sanity).
Sometimes we experience events that disrupt the way we view ourselves and the world. Megan is a trauma-informed therapist who utilizes a strengths-based approach, believing every person has within them personal resources to overcome life’s challenges and works to help them identify their own strengths. Megan helps people feel empowered to make decisions that align with their goals and values, and assists them on their journey to healing and rediscovering their authentic self.
Megan believes the therapist-client relationship is the most important factor in the therapeutic process, and as such, she maintains a person-centered approach with her clients. She also incorporates CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, ACT, shame resilience, sand tray, Play Therapy, art, and mindfulness skills and techniques to address the unique and complex issues people may be facing.
