Rose Bourasa, LMSW

Rose has been working with children and families since 2000. She began working in a public-school setting then moved to a Head Start program as a center supervisor. She earned her Associates degree in June 2005, Bachelors degree in 2009 and then a Master’s degree in 2012, all were focused on Early Childhood Development. In August of 2024 she graduated from Widener University with a Master of Social Work degree.
Rose is originally from the west side of Idaho; and moved to Rexburg in January 2019. She has four fantastic children and fourteen fabulous grandchildren. At one time she owned and operated a hobby ranch, she owned thirteen head of horses, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, pheasants, and rabbits. She enjoys family time, working with plants and flowers, reading, horses, camping, golfing, music, arts and crafts and taking naps.

Therapeutic Approach

The focus of my therapeutic approach is client-focused, I find Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Play Therapy to be effective for many individuals. I have training that is specific to ADHD, anxiety, depression, behavior modification for children and adolescents, and mood disorders. I enjoy working with a variety of ages and challenges with a focus on women and children/adolescents. I have been the journey of obtaining Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) certification and Play Therapy certification.
